Up and fresh today..
Which reminds me of one of my clients asked me the other day.. he said ‘do you always wake up positive, ready to eat muesli and go for a swim..?’
My answer was ‘no, some days I just want to have a snooze and stay in bed..’
But I was slightly bemused by his question until I realised, ‘if that is what I am writing about each week, the science of the R Factor will be kicking in.. ie: R = F x Q… The strength any perception and relationship is determined by the Frequency of Contact multiplied by the Quality of the contact.
It’s all about Conditioning..
Example: If every time I see Steve Martin in a movie I have a humorous experience, the next time I see him, I consciously and subconsciously expect another humourous experience.
Another example: If most days of the week, I feed our dog Ebony and take her for a walk, every time I walk downstairs at the end of the day, she is expecting me to feed her and take her for a walk. I have conditioned her (or she has conditioned me by wagging her tail and following me round the house the way she does).
We are all being conditioned and conditioning others all the time.
You are conditioning your staff…. your dog… your customers… yourself…
by what you radiate out in your thoughts, words and behaviours.
R = F x Q
How do you want to condition your customers?
How do you want to condition your prospects?
How do you want to condition your team?
If you’re not doing it conciously, you certainly will be subconciously.
A Couple More Lessons from the Week
Was meeting with a prospective client later in the week and he was showing me some of his great before and after photos..
Photos of what his clients premises look like before he does his thing, then the amazing transformation when he’s finished..
A brilliant example of how a picture really is worth a thousand (or ten thousand) words..
The only problem was, he wasn’t getting in front of enough qualified, hungry prospects to show the pictures to.
Like many people, his lead generation system was weak…
He was getting leads through a straw instead of a giant pipeline..
Plus, his sales guys were not regularly hitting target, yet he wants to double business next year.
I made a note on my POMVIC Needs Discovery tool..
I drew two circles. One within the other.
In the inner circle I wrote ‘there is what you are doing NOW’ and on the outer circle ‘there is what you are not Doing Now..’
To get different results you need to move beyond the inner circle to the outer circle..
Chances are, when you make that move you need some guidance and support.
Otherwise you retreat back into the inner circle..
