Wow….
It’s Valentine’s Day and 7 days has seen another week of emotional high’s and low’s.
Just last Saturday after speaking at the Pat Mesiti Boot Camp at Sanctuary Cove I saw Pat and Greg and team comforting a crying woman..
The day had gone well, but to see a woman crying was a little out of context until someone told me
she had lost her house in a fire in Victoria..
Then I saw the news… 14 dead.. It was unbelievable..
When I woke on Sunday morning and it was 40, it was even more unbelievable..
And now, 180 (and possibly more)… it’s unimaginable..
During the week I also heard of and spoke to some people who had lost almost everything in the stock market crash.. they were shattered..very shattered..
But what is the take out as I sit here on Valentines Day, having swum with my crew, taken James surfing at 6.30 then to work at McDonalds by 10, given my darling wife a Valentines Day card (and hug) and do a little catch up work before reading the papers..?
Family, Friends, Health and Dreams
The human spirit is incredible…all powerful..
When we surround ourselves with family, friends and supportive people..
people who love us and support our dreams, we can re-build..
Hope, faith and dreams are the invisible but all powerful tools we all need to have and give
those we love and care for in these testing times..
Start with a pen and paper… rewrite your goals and dreams..
Have a conversation with someone you respect.. a coach, a mentor, a teacher..
Re-commit to being as good as you possibly can be..
When we look back on these times in 3, 4 or 10 ten years, we will say, ‘they were testing times,
but we came out stronger because of them..’
Calling in the Spirit
John and I sat with some friends at Mal Emery’s Platinum meeting this week..
It was a group that didn’t really know each other.
But by chance, when we all got talking and sharing, each of the group members had been involved
in different Churches in the Christian faith..
It really was quite freaky..
Everyone of them in their own way had faced a major crisis, and somewhere
in amongst it, had got involved with the Christian faith.
Now, I have to say, I occasionally go to Church with Catherine and the kids..
I even went twice on Christmas day. Once on Christmas Eve with my family, and once with a mate
from the water polo club who had been saying for years it would be a nice thing for us to do together, so I finally did..
but to sit with these people at dinner the other night who were fully committed to their faith
demonstrated to me the incredible power of belief, hope and faith for transformation and evolution,
particularly in tough times..
I’m not saying you need to be born again…but I can see how accessing the incredible power of spirit, faith, love and hope in some form or another is going to be super important for us all to transform and evolve over the next year or two..
The Week as a Work of Art and Science
Its been a great week for John and I and the business (and our clients)
We have learnt even more about communication, influence, persuasion and sales..not the least that
people buy you and your passion and emotions way before they buy your words…
In the big game of business, cashflow does seem to follow energy flow..
But that’s a topic for another time..
We’ve also learnt even more about effective emotional direct response lead generation
and we continue to move further forward on our Franchising of Blue Rocket project thanks to James Cornes and team at the Franchise Institute.
We’ve also learnt, yet again, the power of planning, goal setting, priority setting, systematisation
and delegation… We can’t do everything, we all have to offload and delegate and outsource if we are
to realise our full potential.
Anyway, better go…
PS: By the way, get ready for our exciting Blue Rocket Referrals Programme.. We will be launching it in the next couple of weeks.
So if you know friends or clients who are looking for their sales teams to be more effective at persuasion, influence, lead generation and cashflow creation, let us know and we will set up a win/win result for you and them.
It really is time to help our people in our networks not only survive but thrive in these challenging times..
Have a great week..
Leigh
